Compliance At The Speed of Content

Every growing company lives with the same quiet war: Marketing needs to ship more content, faster, to more target audiences. Legal needs every word of it to be right. One side sees a bottleneck; the other sees a future lawsuit. This is even more pronounced in the age of AI-generated content, especially in regulated industries, where a single misstep isn't just embarrassing; it's an existential risk. Without an immediate solution, most companies reluctantly accept the standoff: weeks-long approval queues, endless email chains, and lawyers spending their days reviewing content rather than doing more strategic work.

For Guy Shahar, this tension presents an opportunity. Guy is one of the rare people who has lived on both sides of the problem: he spent years in marketing and content operations at Adobe, so he knows the trials marketing teams face. He also earned a law degree and still thinks like a lawyer, so he knows the tribulations that plague in-house counsel. Guy not only brings expertise in both disciplines but also insight into what motivates each stakeholder in this equation and how to build a bridge so both can win.

Guy’s solution is Blee, an AI-powered platform embedding compliance review, audit trails, and policy enforcement directly into the content creation lifecycle. Blee enables marketing to move faster while also giving legal more visibility and better controls. Approvals that took weeks now take hours, even minutes. Lawyers get out of the review queue and back to high-value work. And every asset, in every format (video, audio, PDF, image), carries a provable compliance record.

We first met Guy through a close friend, and one thing that really stood out to us is how he is scaling his team. Guy looks past traditional identifiers like schools or logos on a resume and uncovers each candidate's unique skills and mindset, selecting the ones tailor-made to join the Blee mission. He assembled a team of industry veterans, with decades of experience at some of the most recognizable companies, with recent college grads and everything in between. There isn’t a single, clear archetype. Instead, what connects them all is a desire to build. Case in point: his CTO doesn't take his car to a shop, opting instead to work on it himself to further develop his problem-solving abilities.

Guy’s insights and his team have earned him the trust of some of the most demanding buyers in the most regulated industries. What excites us even more is that once Blee is in the door of an enterprise, there is rapid expansion, often across multiple business units. And when Blee's platform customers bring their partners into a shared review workspace, roughly nine in ten of those partners become paying customers themselves.

With AI, the dream of customized content at scale is becoming a reality, but the companies that win will be those that deliver it within the bounds of their brands and regulatory frameworks. That's exactly the layer that the team at Blee is building. At Penny Jar, we believe some of the biggest AI opportunities exist where trust is hardest to earn, in the regulated, complex industries where speed without governance is a non-starter. This is right where Blee lives. We're proud to be an early investor and are excited about what's ahead for Guy and the team.
