Primepoint: Construction Intelligence Built on Drawings

Construction is an industry defined by its complexity and its chronic inefficiency. Over 91% of construction projects go over budget, over schedule, or both. Less than 1% are completed on time with the benefits originally promised. Cost overruns and delays aren't anomalies; they're the norm. And everyone in the industry has more or less accepted it.

The root cause is deceptively simple: the information that drives construction projects (drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals) is spread across thousands of pages of highly technical documents that are constantly changing. And it's not just the documents themselves. Critical information lives in emails, phone calls, and scattered conversations across teams. Keeping track of all of it is a challenge in its own right, especially when the default is to dig through thousand-page documents filled with complex diagrams, intricate tags, cross-references, and spatial relationships that are extraordinarily difficult to parse. LLMs have gotten remarkably good with language. But they haven't been nearly as helpful with the dense, visual, and structural complexity of construction drawings, whether it’s a $10 million renovation to a $1 billion megaproject.

Enter Primepoint.

Primepoint enables construction intelligence built on drawings. Their proprietary AI automatically connects every detail in a project's documents (door tags to schedules, equipment specs to drawings, finish details to their corresponding references) so that project teams can find clarity with a click rather than hours of manual searching. Their platform flags constructability conflicts before they become field problems, automates submittal reviews as they arrive from trade partners, and provides verifiable, source-traced answers to plain-English questions about any aspect of a project.

What makes this possible is a founding team that brings together exactly the capabilities this problem demands. Lubomir Bourdev, Primepoint's CEO, is a world-class AI researcher with more than 100 patents, a founding member of Facebook AI Research, and founder of WaveOne (acquired by Apple). Hamid Palo, co-founder and CPO, was Trello's 5th employee and went on to lead product at Atlassian and Uber, giving him a deep understanding of what it takes to build and ship products at massive scale. Kamran Azarbal, VP of Strategy, brings years of project leadership at Webcor, one of the West Coast's leading general contractors, ensuring that everything Primepoint builds is rooted in the realities of the field. Together, Lubomir's technical depth, Hamid's product eye, and Kamran's industry expertise form the rare combination demanded by this challenge.

With Primepoint, teams can be on top of their projects in real time in a way that simply wasn't possible before, not through better spreadsheets or dashboards, but through AI that genuinely understands the documents at the core of every build.

We’re proud to have co-led Primepoint’s Seed round, investing alongside NextView and Navitas Capital. Grateful to be partnering with Lubomir, Hamid, Kamran, and the entire Primepoint team as they unlock the power of drawings for the construction industry.
